One such genre which I think has gained popularity over the course of my lifetime is country and or pop country. I recall when I was younger that country seemed to be very unpopular and almost seemed like a drag to listen too. Now even living in a metro area I have seen the popularity skyrocket. It seems rare to find someone who hasn't gone to a country concert. Country concerts and music festivals almost foster this sense of unique culture leaving people feeling good. Never in a million years would I have thought I would have become a low key country music fan. I truly think many types of people enjoy and listen to this type of music as well. I think the United States love for country music will only grow stronger especially with many new artists up and coming.

ReplyDeleteMy dad has always been a big fan of Kenny Chesney, we both even attended his concert in New York City. Chesney is a very talented artist, his performance is incredible and he truly does connect with the fans. He even won the Billboard Touring Award for five years consecutively in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and then again in 2011.
ReplyDeleteLike you Frank, I was surprised when the country music of the past decade got me listening. This is a great song. Also, I did not know Chesney had been recognized so many times by Billboard, Rachael, wow!
