Jennings - The Eurythmics
I chose to look into the group, The Eurythmics, after recognizing their name from one of my favorite songs during high school, "Sweet Dreams" This particular song was released in 1983. The group, which is a duo, were considered to be dance rock. They did not have much success until their second album, which contained the song "Sweet Dreams". The two, Annie Lennox and David Stewart, were both in the same band before they joined to create their own duo, which would go on to really benefit them. The band they were first both in was heavily influenced by disco then new wave, but when they formed a group on their own, they diverted from this. The two were able to pair powerful lyrics with a sound that was pretty electric. What was very important though, was that the lyrics could hold their own too, with "Sweet Dreams" having very strong vocals. I think that Annie Lennox in particular had a very powerful voice that was deserving of recognition. She even went on to make her own music, and also stands out in her political activism. They have been induced into the UK Music Hall of Fame, and were nominated for the induction to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Thanks for sharing this. I have heard the song "Sweet Dreams" many times and I really like it. I didn't know anything about the Eurythmics though! Their music has a large sound so I was surprised that the group is only a duo...sounds like many more members involved.
