Our musical generation is defined by the voices we hear over the radio and the performances we travel. You might say well that’s basically every generation so what sets our generation apart from the others. I believe that the difference that sets our generation away from the rest is the way artists sing so passionately and they show their passion in their lyrics and their performances on stage. The way artists today write their songs are so passionate and so sincere that you can tell how much their care about their music. When thinking about the high energy performances and have a passionate voice and lyric writing for a song, it was easy to me that singer/ songwriter/ multiple instrument player/ and not to mention an amazing dancer; Bruno Mars is the perfect image of this mold our generation has defined in the music industry. Bruno Mars brings that “edge” if you will that everyone loves with his voice that can hit any high or low note possible while being able to dance like a professional.
The Hawaiian native moved to LA to start his career in the music industry. His first two features were with established band B.O.B in “Nothin’ on You” and “Billionaire” with Travis McCoy. After that he started to form his role on his own with singles such as “Just the Way You Are” and “Grenade” both released in 2010. He then started to fortify his upbeat songs with “Uptown Funk” and then a year later released “24K Magic.” He was toppling the charts with every song he released and that hasn’t stopped since 2010. He is a Grammy winner and voted top artist many times throughout his career.
Great choice! Bruno Mars was on my list as I was thinking of this final blog. I agree with you that his passion is really heard in his songs and he does "get everyone up on their feet" - a great dance pop artist, among other things, for sure!
