Webers- Introduction

My name is Frank Webers I am a senior at St Michaels college and a History major. I live in Larchmont New York which is in very close proximity to New York City, and provides great access to many concerts and venues. One of the main reasons I chose to take this course was to expand my knowledge of rock and roll. Also being that I am a history major taking a history of something more unique and exciting than other courses I have taken really caught my eye. Although I have never played an instrument proffieciently and really didn't start getting into music until middle school I have really come to enjoy Bruce Springsteen as an artist.

  1. Hi Frank, as a history major, you'll want to dig into the various contexts around which rock has developed over many eras now. Springsteen is one of the best, an artist who shows he has as much to offer as he approaches 70 as he did in his 20s. Hard top pick a favorite album but that five-album peak from Born to Run thru Born in the USA is hard to beat. Welcome to the class!

  2. Hey Frank,
Bruce Springsteen is such a great artist! Did you get into his music through family or did you find him on your own? He is currently doing a show based on stories about his life and music on Broadway which makes me appreciate his versatilely even more. Have you read his auto biography yet? It would be a great summer read!

  3. Hey Frank,
Bruce Springsteen is an amazing artist. It's hard to choose my favorite song from him, but I would have to say "Glory Days" takes the cake. Followed by "Born in the USA."
