Roque Introduction
Roque Introduction-
Hello everyone!
My name is Hannah Roque and I am from Middlebury, Vermont, which is a small college town about 45 minutes south of Saint Mike's. I am a rising sophomore as an english and secondary education double major with a chemistry minor. I am interested in taking this class because I'm a musician and I am also extremely interested in the evolution of rock music/musicians and how it influences our world today. I don't have much experience listening to the rock genre, but I listen to a lot of Broadway Musicals which offer a variety of genres. Some of my favorite rock musicals are Hairspray, Beautiful: the Carole King Musical, and Bye Bye Birdie. I look forward to getting exposed to the rock genre, and I can't wait to start the class!

Hi Hannah, I'm the opposite, I know a lot about rock but less about Broadway - though I love Hedwig! Glad you're in the class!
ReplyDeleteHi Hannah! So glad to see another musical theater lover in the class! I second professor Ellis' recommendation of Hedwig and the Angry Inch, it was an off Broadway show in the late 90s and got revived on Broadway in 2013 with Neil Patrick Harris. Its defiantly a great rock show. Have you had the chance to see Beautiful? Ive heard great things! I would also recommend Spring Awakening as a solid rock musical to listen to, its one of my all time top 3 musicals. While I'm here, I don't believe I've seen you around drama club this past year? If you ever want to hang out with some musical theater nerds come check us out in the fall!!
