Moriarty - 1950s Performer

When I first started reading for the class I started to look up the artists that were mentioned. Artists like Muddy Waters, Little Richard, Big Bill Bronzy, and Howlin' Wolf. As I was reading I would play their songs on Spotify just to put into perspective who they were and what their songs sounded like. One artists that really stuck out above the rest was singer Chuck Berry. As I was reading the article about his journey into the music business I couldn't help but stop and just dance along to the song. I caught myself stomping my feet and shaking in my seat to the song and that was the case for most of his songs. Maybellene was the first song I heard by him and it still stands as my favorite. This song just grabs you immediately and takes you for a ride. I found this youtube video I attached below of Chuck Berry performing and he is also a very energetic performer. He moves to his own rhythm and I think he sticks out to me as a premier artist in the 1950's.

  1. Glad to hear Chuck still has that effect on folks! He has an amazing catalog to explore. Start with the hits album, The Great Twenty-Eight. Spotify link: https://open.spotify.com/album/2OF8CKhOljClqtRTZ5aILa?si=Ayl3RxSqRIGixb7MFcsvig.
