Kallem - 1950s act

As someone who grew up with listening to acts like Elvis Presley, and Chuck Berry, I was excited to further delve into this generations' music. One artist that I have recently found to love and appreciate is Rick Nelson. I remember watching the movie Pulp Fiction for the first time, only to find one of Nelson's songs and absolutely fell in love with it, called  "Lonesome Town". Unfortunately, Ricky Nelsons' career was short lived, due to the fact that he passed away in a plane accident in the 80s. I would totally suggest giving this song a listen, it is hauntingly beautiful.

  1. Great pick. Nelson's guitarist, James Burton, went on to become Elvis's guitarist in the TCB band, best known for Presley's Las Vegas years.

  2. I love this song, I've never heard the artist before but he has a great voice. I completely agree that this song is haunting I think it is somber as well.

  3. This song is very emotional and in a way chilling. There are a lot of stories in the blog this week about artists that suffer tragedies themselves, but that are exposed to the industry's losses too. I would say this could make an artist lonely and driven to write something like this, and it is immensely sad that Nelson died in a plane crash like the Crickets.

  4. Listened to the song and really enjoyed it, never listened to Ricky Nelsen before but after this I'll have to look up other stuff by him.
